Pulled pork burger

- 2 kg (4 lb) pork shoulder with bone, fat removed
- 2 sliced onions
- 500 ml (2 cups) Joe Beef BBQ steak sauce
- 60 ml (4 tablespoons) Joe Beef smoked apple mustard
- 2 Cortland apples, peeled and cut into dice
- Salt and pepper
Garnish
- 1 sliced tomato
- Lettuce
- Coleslaw
- Cheese
- Brooklyn Brine pickles
Preparation
- In a slow cooker, combine onions, joe beef bbq steak sauce, joe beef smoked apple mustard and apple dice.
- Season the pork shoulder with salt and pepper and add to the slow cooker with other ingredients.
- Mix well to coat all ingredients with sauce and simmer on low for 8 hours.
- Remove meat from slow cooker and shred with a fork. Larger apple pieces can also be crushed into the sauce to give a smoother consistency.
- Put pulled pork back into the sauce and mix well so meat absorbs the juices.
- Serve in round buns and add a garnish to taste. The coleslaw can be served as a side dish or as a garnish.
