Smoked Herring Avocado Toast

Ingredients
- 2 pieces of artisanal bread
- 1 avocado
- 1 tin of Mary Manette’s wild Nova Scotia herring, drained
- Pickled red onion
- Balsamic reduction or squeeze of fresh lemon
Preparation
- Toast bread as desired, lightly spread with butter and top with slices of avocado.
- Top with Mary Manette’s wild Nova Scotia herring and a few slices of pickled red onions.
- Drizzle with a bit of balsamic reduction for a note of sweetness or a squeeze of fresh lemon for an extra zing.
Optional: if you’re looking to add a bit of a kick, add a few red pepper chili flakes (we highly recommend!)
