Dorians hummus

Dip them in hummus or enjoy them with your favourite cheese. They are just as tasty on their own, straight out of the bag. Ask anyone from the Favuzzi team: for the past few months, not a day has gone by without us having a taste! Made by two brothers, Serge and Vatran, who learned from their mother that nothing compares to fresh, pure and simple food with an easy-to-pronounce name, prepared according to a time-tested recipe passed down from generation to generation. Authentic and oven-baked to perfection, they are made with just a few natural ingredients following a traditional method. They contain no refined sugar, additives, artificial ingredients or GMO. Just pure flavour! Better yet, they are prepared by hand, right here in Quebec.

Preparation - 10 min.

Ingredients

  • 540 ml (1 can) chickpeas
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp.) of salt
  • 2 large cloves garlic
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp.) ground cumin
  • 90 ml (6 tbsp.) lemon juice (about 3 lemons)
  • 60 ml (1/4 cup) tahini (paste made from sesame seeds)
  • 125 ml (1/2 cup) water
  • 7.5 ml (1/2 tbsp.) of powdered cayenne pepper

Preparation

  1. Put chick peas and their liquid in a food processor.
  2. Puree until smooth.
  3. Add all other ingredients and puree until smooth.
  4. Transfer to a serving dish. Drizzle with your favourite extra virgin olive oil and sprinkle with paprika.
  5. Serve with Dorians chips.
