Slow-cooker braised sausages with tomatoes and spices

Serves 4

  • 700 g sausages of your choice
  • 1 white onion, diced
  • 1 large carrot, peeled and cubed
  • 2 garlic cloves, smashed and finely chopped
  • 5 mL (1 teaspoon) Favuzzi spicy italian herb mix
  • 2 cans Favuzzi peeled tomatoes
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 thyme sprigs
  • 5 mL (1 teaspoon) dried oregano
  • 175 g (1/2 jar) Villevieille Picheline green olives

Preparation

  1. In a pan, brown the sausages on all sides. Place on kitchen towels and set aside.
  2. In the same pan, sauté the onion, then add the carrot and finish with the garlic.
  3. Cut the sausages in three pieces in place in the slow-cooker.
  4. Add the mixed vegetables and the rest of the ingredients.
  5. Cook on low setting for 6 hours.
  6. Serve with white rice or mashed potatoes and savour at the end of a fall day spent enjoying the great outdoors!
